We should have more Bloodmoon-like forms for other Pokemon. A unique evolution/adaptation of a specific individual/small group of Pokémon to a certain foreign environment.

A shame the Spiky Eared Pichu is stuck in the DS.

I think that would be cool idea to break symmetry between player and enemies that really drags down Pokemon as jrpg.
Make gym leaders and other important trainers in next game fucking competent as actual trainers and give them a special boss-only ace that is trained in an unique way giving them different than usual properties.
Stuff like A.J's Sandshrew from original anime that was so buffed up that even water was not doing any harm to it.
