personally I would try to save time by replacing the overworld with a menu. And turning Pokémon into a RPG you play at the arcade by bringing over your floppy disk

I would kill myself for being Japanese, respawn as an American, and invent Pokémon over here and make Marley the protagonist. I’d also steal the Eldrazi from MTG before they existed to be like the big bad for Pokémon and everyone will line up to consume my goyslop.

I would try to buddy up with him in the earlier days of him designing stuff and help him with that by just using the end-result product I know of to give ideas and create towns. Then I would cash in on money and every like 5 years or so I would say something controversial about some random pokemon or character so retards on the internet can argue about it cause I'm a "part-creator"

How am I missing the point? Do you think the entire point is being on the Gameboy? The point of Pokémon is having a single player RPG with multiple interactions. Encouraging players to trade rare items and Pokémon with each other. You think I wouldn't set up a multi-player cabinet for battling and trading? You think arcade cabinets wouldn't allow me to create more versions of the same game than Gamefreak did on the Gameboy? You think having very low encounter and drop rates for Pokémon and items wouldn't fit right at home in an arcade?

The whole reason pokemon got greenlit by nintendo was to sell more link cables, arcade machines wouldn't do that. That would also limit how many people could play the game and how much because people are never gonna have as much time to go to the arcade and a popular machine is gonna be a lot harder to get a turn with than just pulling out a gameboy on break or on the train for a few minutes even when you're too busy to dedicate an hour or two to playing games.
