Whenever the topic of changing the type chart is brought up the thing I see the most is making bug resist fairy and/or super effective against fairy which is also my most wanted change not because i'm salty about fairy resisting bug but also we would have a type that resists fairy and isn't weak to ground but instead resists it, it's true that very few fairies get ground moves but this new resistance would mean fairies need more team support to get past their checks which I think is a good thing because the past few generations have shown how strong fairy is.

I'm also a fan of making bug resist ghost for similar reasons as we would have a typing that resists ghost and isn't weak to fighting but instead resists it, ghost has become insane offensively since they made steel no longer resist it.

Would u-turn become too strong? Well u-turn existed before fairy existed so why should bugs be hurt to make room for this new type that is also considered overpowered? This wouldn't change the fact that fairies weakness are all considered bad offensive types. Bugs being able to hit fairy with stab super effective damage would help them out a lot

Now learns flip turn and u-turn, it's whole thing is that it runs away from battles.
Emergency exit activates after it uses its move and asks if you want to switch out.
Also learns megahorn and wave crash because why not.

It's not like Fairies have... reality to base it's type interactions on. The closest thing we have to that is the origin of Fairies being unable to interact with Cold Iron, making a Steel Resistance the only sure-fire thing they should add.
If anything, they should be well adept to handling poisons too, given that Fae are known for dealing with alchemy and such. But a decision was made to make them weak to Poison for balance changes.

Yes it does. It’s weak to steel because fairies in real stories are weak to iron and industrialization destroying nature. Fairies in real stories are weak to poison because pollution destroys nature. Fairies in general are nature spirits. Both of these were incredibly predictable type match ups before the type was even announced. Why in the FUCK would it be weak to a natural animal that lives everywhere in forests?

I guess if see Fairy=Life Spirit and merely exists as a more powerful version of Grass, then sure, but I have to imagine given some of the Fairies (Mr. Mime, Granbull, Mawile, Primarina) it's more based on Fae as a whole, ranging from Nymphs/Nature Spirits to Pixies to Sirens to Hags.
Why any of these would be weak to bug is not really my point; I don't really think they should be either. I'm just saying you can kinda do anything with Fairy and I'm not sure we'd question it. (Like, why does Fire resist it anyway?)

Well, if we start including natural ecological distasters, I'm not sure it should be just be bug. After all, a tsunami would fuck up a forest pretty bad, a long lasting or early frost could do some damage, and fire is the oldest destroyer of nature.

Fairy was just made up in order to counter the meta types at the time prior to gen 6 which was dragon, fighting and steel with no logic behind it. If the meta would've been rock, fire and water or something then they would've made fairy good against that
