The lack of cutscenes makes it even worse in my opinion, it's just wall of texts to smash A through, both Cheren and Bianca interactions are so milked and get repetitive extremely soon. The battles just become a chore too, nothing interesting or even meaningful about them.
At least with cutscenes I have a little scene to look at while smashing A and not caring about dialogue.
Usually I don't mind dialogue, but Cheren and Bianca, and honestly most of BW progression in general, are handled so poorly with so much fucking text which gets extremely repetitive or is just plain verbose for the sake of it.
