The point to have a hard dex reset has come and gone, we're way bloated and 90% of the pokemon nobody even remembers.
Would anyone cry if KlingKlang got removed?
I think people are right to want Pokemon to get more into the ecosystem/personality quirks that make the anime and games like Snap so enjoyable, but it's also impossible when you start out with a 400 pokemon dex every game.
Keep Pikachu and just do a clean break and don't have old pokemon over again. Maybe you can make some exceptions for starters and Mew, but at some point you have to cut the fat.
