Who is to say that false cradle eggs were not based on true eggs, or that true eggs were evolved to resemble false eggs, or whatnot?
Larger Pokemon fitting into eggs and even being light enough to carry could be the same shrinking abilities that allow Pokemon to fit in Pokeballs - something theorycrafters will never mention because they will never accept that shrinking is a thing and would rather turn to being in a perpetual state of energy and data.
