There's nothing about pandering here despite TPCi's attempt to make it seem so. Picking the boy still means characters refer to you as a boy, and picking the girl still means characters refer to you as a girl. There's no "they/them" shit or customizable pronouns, it's just simplifying the age-old procedure to remain a one-screen affair to avoid overwhelming kids with too many branching variables.
