Source is they created 3D models and animations for every mon, gave us every battle format, had post game facilities and content, actual dungeon and route design with exploration, the national dex and great distribution, fishing, QoL, a creative new battle mechanic, trainer customization, etc.
Every game afterwards was derivative of Gen 6 but instead of improving they doubled down on its worst aspects and stopped putting in effort.
