Actually restructuring how information is portrayed on the screen to not waste time on explaining IN FULL SENTENCES status effects, weather, effectivity of moves etc every damn turn? Yes please. It's long overdue and it's baffling how every major franchise got it right but Pokemon is stuck in mentality from early 90s when graphics where not good enough and this kind of message spam was needed.

How do i speed up in mgba without the game being super fuckin’ choppy? I just want to go at like 1.5 to 2x speed. Tried the regular speedup feature set to 2x and tried setting target fps to 90. Both felt stuttery. Open to trying retroarch or vba-m.

fast forward has been the single biggest detriment to pokemon romhacking. it creates a culture of players who speed through games as fast as possible, and allows blatantly anti-player design from both game freak and romhack devs to go unnoticed.
i rebound speedup to another key just so i wouldn't accidentally press it. the only time i've ever used it is for savescumming the odd egg in fool's gold.

The games play at the speed they do due to artist design choices. A speed up or skip button would ruin the artist's and game designer's vision. Thank god people on /vp/ don't actually design games. It's 2023, you do not know better than the experts. Trust Game Freak, they know how to make a better game than you.
