Pokemon were designed with the line of logic "how does this thing exist/live"
Now, there are surely cases where idiots will make a claim like that and be retarded about it.
Like Genesect here. Of course it doesn't look like it lives in the wild. It doesn't, it's at least partially man-made.
Most normal Pokemon though are supposed to live in the wild, and that's when you start to need to look at these things.
