Scarlet and Violet was more fun gameplay-wise in my opinion, and I prefer the route they went with it. However SWSH had better character designs, and artstyle. I just wish they kinda combined the two, and kept the upgraded textures for the pokemon, but made the trainer designs more like the way they look in SWSH. I very much disliked playing SWSH but aside from the environment in a lot of areas I prefer how they look.

Switch Pokemon games do not have an artstyle, they are built off Unity stock assets and get mogged graphically even by a 15 year old game like Assassins Creed 2.
Devs managed to make Crysis 3, Doom Eternal and The Witcher 3 work perfectly on the Switch, meanwhile the Pokemon games look like they could run on the Wii, Game Freak should honestly commit collective suicide.

Genuinely horrible looking games and big contenders for worst graphics and worst optimization of any Triple A on the Switch.

Left was done to compensate for the huge environments since it was stuck on shit tier wii hardware. The remake preserved the complex environments while also mogging every pokemon slop game graphically so they really have no excuse

SwSh are not great games and it was the first time since Emerald where I didn't buy a mainline game on day of release. But I've really warmed up to these games. The cultural attention to detail really speaks to my Bri'ish heart.

Yes because Pokemon is supposed to have a cartoony anime aesthetic.

The realistic textures look fucking terrible and clash horribly with the designs.

Cartoony =/= weirdly shiny and plastic-y looking. I do think that SV goes a bit overboard with it sometimes, but the metal textures alone are so much better. Magnemite, Scizor etc look so good now.
