I had never seen this Pokémon in any context until I evolved it in swsh, I’d call it forgettable but that would mean I’d have seen it prior, I do like the design though.

If you are not a zoomer you remember that it was very popular when Ruby/Sapphire were newer games. Everyone used it because it was the only cool new Electric type, but it was overshadowed by Luxray when gen 4 came out.

I like using mega manectric on rain teams because lightning rod switching into an electric attack and then having 100% accuracy +1 thunder is based

It's very mundane, at least in gen 3.

I never cared about Manectric and certainly never used it
It's not good looking (especially not Elektrike, ugly little shit) or well-colored and is nigh worthless until it got Flamethrower/Overheat

Luxray was their second attempt at this and they succeeded; almost like they were aware that they failed at making this cool and popular.

I always use Manectric in Hoenn, it's just wrong not to. It does fall off a bit in the late game but mid-game it's a complete monster.

Dark typing is a liability at this point when Fairy is so busted. It rapes the Dragons and half the fucking dex thanks to incessantly adding Fighting or Dark as a secondary.
