Using it in pu/nu it pulls it's weight with boots+sturdy but despite's it's bulk rarely sticks around for more than a few turns.

Seriously wheres the 100% accurate physical rock move feels like accelerock could have been the move to better a lot of mediocre rock pokemon

This guy feels like it was designed with doubles trick room in mind with its signature move mountain gale being able to flinch and hitting both opponents but its faster than regular avalugg and unlike regular avalugg its also faster than amoongus whos been one of the best mons in doubles so it just loses

That's the funny part. I remember seeing people going crazy about Tera fixing pokemon like Avalugg, but that help with jack shit because of it's Sp.Def. Seriously, there is no type that it can turn into save it. Especially since this is the Gen of Special attackers.

The ability was always a joke, it didn't work on Tyrantrum's STABs and Rock Head Head Smash ended up becoming its bread and butter.
At least it's good on Dracovish.

Also let's not forget how the elemental fangs were only egg moves back in gens 6 and 7 for Tyrunt.

One would think that a Pokemon touted as having strong jaws would have the elemental fang moves in its level up movepool, but that would have been too much for Game Freak to comprehend.

Romhacks don’t really count but Pokemon Gaia has vanilla learnsets, and Avalugg of all things was my MVP. Went from not giving a shit about him to really liking him. There’s no salvaging the hisuian shitform, unfortunately.

Hisuian Avalugg is based on a sheet of mountainous rock covered in ice, hence why it is less bulky, lighter, smaller, and faster than Kalosian Avalugg.
Why is it a mountain specifically? Hisui is pretty much Sinnoh, which is the most mountainous region to date and is cold enough for Ice types to live in its northern areas. But not cold enough for icebergs to form, hence why Bergmite cannot evolve into Kalosian Avalugg there.

The whole accuracy % is bullshit, anything under 95 is practically unusable without a wide lens or zoom lens, even then it's funny because if a move has a 90% accuracy rate and the pokemon holds the wide lens, the accuracy should be 99%, but the move will still miss way more often than 1 out of a hundred times. Just deal with it or find a special attacker rock mon, teach him Power Gem.
