No. Its just a really popular headcanon because legendary Pokemon lore is effectively humans hyping up what a member of a Pokemon species did which is usually in the past.

The games themselves separate legendaries into two tiers, defining which ones are actually special(mostly box legendaries and mythicals) and which ones are more abundant and used by top trainers all over
"Legendary" pokemon are literally just rare and powerful pokemon with associated legends

SwSh's Legendaries appeared because of an Ultra Wormhole as well. It was stated in the Crown Tundra. Peonia mentions that the first Pokemon to have appeared from the Max Lair was a Solgaleo/Lunala. The lair itself also has plenty of Alola and Ultra Beast fanservice.
