It's only a once-game special form anyway, like Ash-Greninja and Spiky-Eared Pichu. Next gen only her regular form will remain and this form and art will be forgotten. That's why they didn't spend any time on it.

It is very sad. Artworks were one of the few things that Pokémon was doing right (kinda, the Gen7 ones suck so bad), but the artworks of this generation really make me depressed.

All of the gen9 artworks are traced off the 3D models, aren't they? Baxcalibur is the most obviois one, I think.

Was Ash Greninja ever allowed in VGC? I genuinely don't remember. The fact Ursaluna Blood Moon is allowed in tournaments gives me some hope it might come back.

Gen 7 has a completely different lineart style and crazy saturated colors. Put the artwork of Incineroar next to Blaziken and you’ll notice too.

Sugimori doesn’t draw Pokémon artworks since Gen 7.
And for Gen 7 he only drew Alolan forms and Dusk Lycanroc.
