there's the black crystals on the northeast side of the map too and id guess that's gonna be crystals that end up there because of Kieran the environmental terrorist
I mean they showed a crystallized tree in the trailer so area zero wasn't always just crystals at the bottom, that was caused by something that's capable of covering the entire region in crystals
at best I could see briar not caring too much about what happens to anyone after she finds what she wants, but the power of friendship will save kieran and the others anyway
