I've always picked the water starter in the games as a kid, and enjoyed seeing cute mons turning into badass monsters. But since gen 7 the water startes have been getting the worst treatment by far: Primarina, Inteleon and especially Quaquaval are just so bad that I don't know how their designs passed
To be fair Primarina isn't that bad, it's just the design doesn't really fit a starter. I did enjoy using her for what it's worth and Water/Fairy is great overall, but Inteleon and Quaquaval are complete garbage.
All starters in gen 8 sucked, so I didn't actually use my starter, and SV was the first time I've actually chosen the fire one. The worst part is that Sobble and Quaxly are really solid overall, they didn't deserve that
Also, this jobmon trend for the final evolution has to end, it's just getting worse each new gen
