Imagine being upset that GF markets their stuff using Pokemon people actually like. /vp/ complaining about "shillmons" reeks of contrarianism/hating popular things to try and look cool.

It’s not a huge deal but it kind of takes me out of it knowing Pikachu, Lucario, Charizard, and Eevee will be in every paired game going forward even with the dex cut established.

My favorites are pretty popular, at least as far as Pokemon is concerned, I don't really care.

Although it does get kind of tiresome to see the same pokemon over and over when there's so many you could give the spotlight to.

No. A shillmon is something like Lucario or Zoroark; a Pokémon that starts getting pushed heavily by marketing long before there's any way for the staff to know if people will actually like it or not, and is designed specifically for this purpose.
