I find it odd how we never got to fight Clive, kinda made the Team Star storyline feel unfinished and rushed
Where did he even come from? He seemed to know the main character personally, as well as all the other students in the school

I do not believe it.
Nobody with Clive's innate coolness could possibly be imitated by Clavell by all people.
It's pretty clear that this card is a misprint and they gave it Clavell's artwork by mistake.

The team star plot line in general was doing a good job at throwing you off, even if the conclusion was clear. The biggest throw off was how Clavell in general was the actual main character, and while Penny being cassiopea is something you could've predicted at the start, they did a good job at throwing a wrench with making Penny part of the operation as a seperate entity, only later on does it become obvious, to everyone that they are the same.
