Frisk only exists as a placeholder to nerf pokemon Game Freak doesn’t want to succeed. Though considering how Sinnoh was supposed to be the “ultimate” generation (hence all the power creep), it’s weird Dusknoir got it

Pressure isn’t that bad an ability on it anyway. I fail to see how it’s a shitmon when it was OU in DP? Sure it lacks HP but still.

I can't believe Dusknoir is hated around here. I get that it goes in a different direction to Dusclops, but Dusclops was already a big change from Dusclops. Dusknoir looks awesome and unique.

Dusknoir was a infamous low ladder noob bait and considered undeserving of UU usage alongside Electivire and Ninjask among others. Remember DP OU didn't have weighted usage stats, they were only introduced in BW.

Frisk exists for the campaign, so you can check wild Pokemon for held items before stealing them or catching them to nab them. It's not really meant for competitive.

The problem is that it just doesn't really have much. No Belly Drum for setting up, no spikes, tspikes or pebbles, no pivot move outside of Memento, no good recovery. It has taunt and will-o-wisp at least but its shit speed makes it kinda bad at using those, you're probably gonna want to use its preevo for its superior bulk if your gonna spam status moves anyways. It really just needs to get a few good tools it can take advantage of, and maybe a bit more attack

In what meta would this be good? In VGC, it only goes up to 200bp on an intimidatable mon (being the last mon in doubles is a far worse situation than it is in singles). In BSS it only goes up to 150bp (I'm not familiar with the current BSS meta, would this actually be good?). In smogon, Last Respects is banned from OU, and trick room is entirely irrelevant so that it's outclassed by Houndstone and Basculegion in Uber tiers.
