I remember during the period when I was waiting for an affordable copy of Heartgold to become available online, I ended up finding out that I could get Gold for the 3DS VC, so I bought and played it, and ended up having a total blast. The purple look of the night time color palette in particular is probably the best that night has ever looked in any of the games, I have an issue with gens 4+ still being too bright during night time, whereas for gen 2, the purple tint + the lit windows really sell you on this being the dead of night. Also, the sprites are very very pretty, I love me some nice retro pixel art and gen 2 has got some real beauties
