>>55045983If I'm playing devil's advocate, it's because the static encounters showing up in the field have some coding shtick more than likely that makes it impossible for them to show up as Shiny, else it'd have to be a guaranteed Shiny. They probably load into Paldea the moment the world is generated, like Miraidon/Koraidon in Area Zero, and as a result, have to keep referencing the same data. They're coded to be locked, because if they show up Shiny, it'd be a freebie.
But at the same time, I think anyone would easily give up the static encounters in favor of a DynAdventure-like system for Shiny Hunting at this point, because you get stuff like a small Lugia just chilling out in the middle of the ocean like it's in a hot tub, and it's the most pathetic-looking thing ever, and shows how little GF gives a shit.
