There would be no meltdown from me. Only pure joy. I don't need to play through the exact same game for the 1000th time (Johto) or shitty Unova for a 2nd time. I want a new fucking game in PLA style. I loved that shit, they just need to build on it a little bit and make the world less empty. Even though it was literally only a place to catch pokemon, I fucking loved it. Imagine if they fleshed out the world.

I'd be fine with that. PLA had soul. I'd take that over a disappointing mainline game any day. Although, I'd prefer Hoenn or Kalos.

Believe me or don't believe me but I know the next game and it is not a Legends game. It's a Unova in house remake that will be followed up by a Johto remake for the franchises anniversary. Both will be teased on Pokémon day. They're gearing up for a big reveal.

But they wouldn't have time to make a new Legends game in between Legends Arceus' release and next holiday season. They wouldn't have seen the hugely positive reception it got. So whatever we're getting this Pokemon Day whether Johto or Unova, it can't be a Legends game.

Faithful remake of HGSS
"Legends"-style reimagining of Unova

This is because a faithful gen 5 remake would only cover one of the two games anyway and satisfy no one.

To build on this, HGSS yses the gen 4 engine, which already was ported for BDSP and would be less work than a BW remake which would require new models and stuff.

I want Legends Johto too since the theme lends itself more to Johto, and you can also draw links to PLA in it since we know Johto and Sinnoh are physically linked and also have a lot of similarities. Legends Unova would still be cool but I'd rather Johto.

Completely different, that's targeted mostly at adults who are picking the game for themselves, so they'll do the research. The main consumer of Pokémon games are kids, who cannot buy games themselves. Their parents buy them. Who couldn't give 2 shits about the game and just wanna buy it and be done. That's where the confusion comes in.
