Player beware, you're in for a scare.
I appreciate these sidequests to get legendary pokemon, but locking them behind dlc is ridiculous. Just like BDSP not even letting you get the Member's Key/Oak's Letter in any way other than Mystery Gift.

You literally misread what I said. I am critiquing how these events are locked behind timed distributions instead of just being on the god damned cart/download in the year 2023 for some arbitrary reason. Sure there could be an update to let you get the pecha berry event item through normal gameplay, and there could be one to let you catch Iron Leaves and Walking Wake in Area Zero.

I see you're new to the Pokémon series and apparently just started with this gen, but GameFreak has often made a lot of Pokémon that are known in the community as unobtainable Pokémon. Special, end-of-the-dex Pokémon that are only given away for special events, and in gen 3 and gen 4, even had special quests made just for them. (Although GameFreak didn't actually distribute those quests for some reason.) Here's a list of some of the many unobtainable Pokémon that we've had since the start of the series back in 1995.
