Yes, but Turo's copy is specifically the one he had as a kid. He kept the same one throughout his life and treasured it, and embedded his ID card into its cover because it was such an inspiration for him. I doubt he'd just pop into a used bookstore and get a replacement, especially with how much sentimental value he has in that book.

It's the book with the prof's names in "clumsy handwriting" in it. It's the unique copy of the book that we, in our timeline, received from Arven and used to stop the time machine. The fact that that book doesn't exist anymore in the timeline the professor we met went back into means that events cannot conclude for them the same way.

Ohmari loves his alternate universe stories. I said it before, and this just confirms it. SV story is very similar to SM/USUM. Hell USUM is just an alternate timeline to SM. Don't be surprised if Gen 10 also has some time fuckery.

Anon, the "clumsy handwriting" means they wrote their name in there when they were little kids. They owned that copy since they were a child and it inspired them to become a professor in the first place. It wasn't just a random copy they wrote their name into as an adult. That's why they made it the key to turning off the time machine.

That's not time travel, though. The moment the professor gives you their personalized copy of the Scarlet/Violet book, it creates a genuine paradox that would have completely undone your entire adventure if the event had occurred on your own timeline - if you have the book, then the professor can't put the key for the Time Machine in it, and it can't end up in Arven's possession later because it's with you. However, when this scene ends, nothing has changed on your timeline - so the only resolution for that paradox that leaves your own timeline intact is that you interacted with a version of the professor from a parallel universe and not your own, with the changes affected by your exchange being felt by that timeline while leaving yours intact.
Tldr; it's interdimensional travel in that pic, not time travel, and a similar event occured on your timeline where an alternate version of you interacted with the professor (but DIDN'T take their book).

It's time AND interdimensional travel. The professor even says so himself. Also don't forget that time travel is technically also interdimensional travel.
In the end it doesn't make a difference. It's still time travel, but the way it works in the story it definitely means there's separate timelines. Otherwise this would've undone a lot of things that happened in the game. It's definitely paralell universe fuckery.
