Thoughts on Chargestone cavern? It's fucking huge. In general 3D caves have really gotten an improvement this gen, I've been loving exploring them

I keep accidentally running into the SUPER tiny Pokemon. Sometimes, when there's a bunch of grass assets and the Pokemon is small enough, I think it's an item twinkle and go over to try and pick it up.

It made me think, was that intentional? Instead of "random grass battles", running into Pokemon you didn't see is supposed to be the intention and replace that feeling? Or maybe they just experimented with "true size" Pokemon and went too far.

The problem is this game. I didn't have an issue in Legends. I'm not sure if it's because Legends didn't have any super tiny Pokemon or because it had fixed spawn points more spread out across rhe map, but they got it right before

It's because when you run into Pokemon in Legends, you don't automatically get thrown into a battle. You only start a wild battle when you throw your Pokemon at them. It made bumping into shit a lot more tolerable.

They have momemtum and start off slow before speeding up, all the while your character is stuck, frozen in place, unable to do anything until the rock animation ends. Sounds like you're the one who hasn't played the game. It's the slowest, most tedius, moving rock puzzle in any Pkemon game.

Anon the franchise literally started by telling you it's dangerous to go into tall grass because you may suddenly encounter a pokemon. Finding a pokemon you didn't see because it was too small and/or it was hidden in the grass is exactly how this shit has been meant to work since the beginning.

It’s a cool reference, and like most of the other DLC areas, it is a vast improvement on the base game.

However, there is a lot of room for improvement (outside of the obvious performance issues). Exploration in nuPokemon sucks because there are almost no worthwhile rewards or challenges / puzzles in your path. Give party mon inherent abilities that can be used for puzzles / utility in the overworld. Instead of going for even bigger worlds, deliver tightly designed dungeons within the world (sort of a classic 3D Zelda meets Pokemon).

They also recreated the nature preserve, complete with special Haxorus (special tera type instead of shiny). I can only think of 3 possible reasons:

>Testing 3D renditions of Unova environments for upcoming Unova game.
>Giving 3D Unova areas because the upcoming Unova game is ILCA 'faithful' schlock.
>Simple throwback references, Unova game not coming next.

My autism will be greatly agitated if the next game is Unova and not Johto, and it looks like I'm just going to have to cope with it at this point because the Unova references in this DLC (even without the areas) are on par with the Johto references in the Sinnoh games.

Same here bro honestly. I think they're doing it slightly out of order on purpose though since they want to keep Johto in pocket for a good time. After all we all know KANTOOOOO comes with Johto so they probably wanna save it for a special occasion. They may do a long gen this generation like Gen 4 and end up doing both Unova and Johto remakes. I do really want Johto remakes more than Unova desu. I like both but the out of order factor is kinda annoying. I'm just confused how they're suddenly speedrunning remakes. We may genuinely be looking at a Kalos remake in Gen 10 which is wild to me.

No, they most probably aren't. Unless you think we're getting BOTH John and Unova next year, which I highly doubt.

The only the that's "sudden" lately is PLA existing on top of BDSP, but asides from that nothing's really new. Remakes every three years for the most part now.

Even if they skip from John to Unova that doesn't mean we won't get a John remake ever, that's kinda dumb imo. If you're referring to Chu, he loves making us think between two possibilities. Again, high doubt we're getting both. Although the idea of a pair of games with version exclusive REGIONS sounds pretty cool....

This is prerelease snapshot reaction, as he incorrectly said back sprites are cropped out like previous gens, because we know the game moved the camera around. He's probably reaction to the blurry commercials of back then, but his other criticisms like the circle and screen placement are the most minor of nitpicks that I've honestly never heard before and are only there because it's new and he's not used to it. Quite different from your blatant revisionism.

I could open the bag 20 times in the time it takes one of the floating rocks to move. Fortunately I don't have to since the rock just tells me if I want to use strength and it works until I exit the cave. Again play a fucking game, slow floating rocks are the worst.

Also, pokémon with aggro would clip into you while you're already battling, causing a chain of battles every time you finish one.

The caves have been the best part of the DLC for me, even back in Isle of Armor I noticed how nice they were. And back then Pokemon was ahead of the curve, they had decent caves when BotW had fucking nothing.
