Now that gen 9 is officially done lorewise, are paradoxes really a mistake?

Yes, they're concept is economically wasteful. These aren't just gimmick form but whole ass gimmick pokemon. They could have achieved the same idea with mew and Mewtwo. Have primordial type and manmade version of said type mon.

The worst part is that just like Ultra Beasts, it's unique dex numbers which won't be available in subsequent games, bloating the list with Pokémon that are, for all intent and purpose, one-offs. But instead of there being 11 of them, there's 23 of them.
There's going to be Dynamax Adventure-style mechanics, but that was part of the second DLC to SwSh, and UBs are nowhere in SV.

All Paradoxes should have been obtained from their normal counterpart, instead of being their own single-stage line
Something like "bring X Pokemon to Y location to turn it into its Paradox form", could even have a lab with some Terapagos' scales to do this

Future Paradoxes, however, are an abomination in all regards, literally the same Pokemon, but as an atrocious robot

They don't really add much and their true origins are still clouded in mystery. Design wise, past paradoxes ironically look like regular pokemon while future paradoxes look displaced entirely.

i really hate them because they don't fit into any ecology at all, they're just kind of there.
ultra beasts were the same but they put a lot more emphasis on how bizarre they were, then with USUM you got to see how they lived normally. gave them a lot of character.
these guys just live in a pit and do nothing interesting

It does matter because it's our last chance of learning how Terapagos' power spectrum works due to it being a main Pokemon with story relevance.
Concrete explanations of Terapagos in Horizons will help us understand SV more clearly.

is this some kind of deliberate misreading? the 'alternate timeline' thing is probably about as simple as handwaving 'this could be canon to scarlet OR violet's timeline of events', they're not from some far flung alternate universe if they're even from another one at all (they aren't)
