I should have known so, yes. The "climactic moment" of SwSh was always Eternatus, while DLC was mainly new areas to explore with some cool moments, but nothing redefining the base game.

Yes but honestly Kierans whole spiraling culminating in him just chucking a Master Ball at Terapagos ASAP and then getting BTFO'd when using Tera wasn't bad or anything (By Pokémon Standards), just not as much as a high point.

the whole game was a ZZZZZZ snorefest regarding story and characters. did not give a fuck about any of it, and then got to the very final stretch and started to get a little interested. and the final fight with the ai guy; that was actually really cool. one of my favorite fights in pokemon. definite peak

The DLC was only able to feel bigger than the main game in SS because the main story was such a nothing burger.
SV actually had a story, so the detour DLCs in SV actually felt like detours and not much else.
