It never had Earth Power, if it did the meme of it being a one-trick pony would have never exists. You might be confused because every other Volcano themed special attacker gets it. It likely would have gotten Scorching Sands in Gen 9 along with the other fire starters but it was mysterious banned from Galar which is why it had to wait until Gen 9's DLC.

Probably because STAB Infernal Parade shares the same secondary burn effect and gets even stronger on already statused targets.
And since its a Ghost type, STABs + Focus Blast gives it perfect coverage already

IMO all it needs is Aura Sphere for an accurate reliable Fighting move on it's kit

Honestly i wish typhlosion was just the physical version on charizard since its physical movepool has been good since gen4. Also idk why they refuse to give the fucking volcano pokemon earth power
