Despite how common GO shinies are they are very valuable because they are always legitimate. The only thing to keep in mind is you can only transfer one shiny legendary per week.

No, you hunt for whatever legendary is available right now (currently Kyurem) and then put that up to trade on the GTS.

If they're in Cherish Balls/marked as being from a "special place" then you can't put them on GTS. I tried hawking off one of my shiny even Rayquaza a while back and it didn't let me.
