Prof A (the one who died and wrote the entry we can read) did not give away their unique copy of the Violet/Scarlet Book with their childhood signature. They got the white book and kept the other too. That's why we could use that unique copy to stop the time machine, which they personally implemented to be the only thing able to do so.
Prof B (the one we personally met at the Crystal Lake) TRADED their unique copy of the Violet/Scarlet Book for the white book. Ergo, it would be impossible for them to use the Book for the time machine the same way. It doesn't exist in their universe anymore, so events cannot possible occur in the same way.
It's not a timeloop where the same events happen again and again. It's alternate timelines.
