Araquanid is pretty balanced, if you wanted to post Ultra beasts with Super Min-Max stats that would have made more sense

This ability has done nothing to push powercreep.
Stop looking at these as singular points, by that logic Slaking is powercreep, instead of one of the worst fully evolved Pokemon to exist.

There are pokemon comparable to Araquanid with abilities that only do one of those things that predate both it and Water Bubble.
It's power creep whether you like it or not.

and is already making a comeback as a staple in VGC. It was only ever outclassed by dracovish (which proves OP'S point further as it's even MORE powercreep for a functionally similar pokemon released 1 gen later) and now that he's gone has secured a spot as a staple once again with the addition of tera water letting him hit even HARDER.

yeah its funny and similar to Araquanid having a very long ability thats sounds crazy but very manageable on the pokemon where something like intimidate does one thing has always been very powerful.

Powercreep is a thing that exists in literally all competitive games (that are still getting updated). Magic the Gathering has powercreep, League of Legends has powercreep, Fortnite has powercreep, even real life sports have powercreep (compare the average height of basketball players today to 50 years ago). I don't know why retards here treat it as some horrible awful thing, it's an inevitable consequence of the system. Wanting a zero powercreep game is like wanting a zero inflation economy.

Not really. At least in singles most of them aren't even good, only Great Tusk, Flutter Mane, Iron Bundle, Roaring Moon, and Iron Valiant are serious threats and Great Tusk is only so good because Gholdengo is broken and it's the best answer to Gholdengo. That's not even close to comparable to UBs where literally all of them except Guzzlord and Stakataka were top-tier mons.

I know Ledian is the go-to example for this shit so I'm sorry for beating a dead horse but it's crazy how a BST of 500 these days is enough to warrant "OOPS I DON'T HAVE TO TAKE ANY STATUS EFFECTS AND I GET AN EXTRA FREE RESISTANCE" while earlier generation mons are still stuck with fucking garbage line-ups like this

Just let Pokémon have multiple abilities at once. Then you can split part of that off into Water Veil.

It would also make it less confusing whether Pokémon are supposed to be in contact with the ground or not. How come I can hit Geodude with Earthquake but not Dodrio? Why was Gengar banned from Sky Battles even back when it had Levitate?

Except this time they gave him an ability that gives him immunity to status. And resists ghost moves.
And the best fucking move in the game: 25% damage every turn to water and steel types ON TOP of doing (admittedly weak) damage.

Finally a good fun rock mon to use and it only took 9 gens and a completely overloaded set of tools.
