>>55100082What else would you propose as a way to quantify how good a Pokemon is for the main campaign? Because you're doing an awful lot of moaning without offering anything insightful. The reason speed is a good metric here is because it usually implies the following:
1) The Pokemon hits hard and can OHKO most things
2) The Pokemon has good coverage options to take out most types.
3) The Pokemon either has enough bulk to not require healing often, or it has enough speed to outspeed and knockout everything (or a combination of both)
All of these are good indicators that a Pokemon is good for in-game use. Of course, you can toxic/leech seed stall all your opponents to death instead if you really want. Hyper offense isn't the only way to beat the game. But it's certainly the most effective way to do it, and that's what the OP wants to discuss. Otherwise OP would have asked "what's your favourite starter to use in-game" instead.
