desu GSC Red if you don't grind, use items in battle or use the overleveled legendaries the game gives you is pretty hard.
You'll be around level 48 for him and he's 30 levels above that, and has zero shitmon outside of Pikachu. Kids beat him due to usually overleveling their starter, and getting the free level 70/60 Ho-Oh/Lugia/both.

Red's movesets and AI is terrible and thanks to stat exp and badge boosts you actually won't be that far off from him stats wise even if you're 30 levels lower

If you're a retard who's training up 6 Pokemon instead of just using your overlevelled starter then the only thing that comes close to legitimately threatening is Snorlax
