The firm I work for specialising in theme park engineering had me contracted to supervise at an upcoming Pokemon related theme park in Japan. I’m not much of a Pokémon fan, besides witnessing part of the craze in the late 90s, nor do I frequent this board but thought perhaps this may interest some of you. If you have any questions feel free to ask, here’s part of what I know they’re planning on implementing:
>It will be heavily based on the original Pokémon games that were on the Gameboy colour. Red, blue, green & yellow.
>Its main goal is to attract tourists that can come together no matter their nationality or whether or not they speak Japanese.
>They’re working on creating a real life Pokémon catching experience, personally I’ve already seen that they’re working on tracks/caves where you can stumble upon animatronics that will respond to voice commands and pokie balls that you can throw at them.
>caves have projectors, making signs like you would see in Pokémon Snap, also holograms of zubats/gastly and haunter.
>Ridiculous amount of gift shops
>One of the roller coasters is water themed, spraying the people onboard and scaring them with a big gyrados.
>Over 18s can enter a special room where they line up to take turns on a vaporeon
>At the gate you can purchase plastic pokie balls that will make certain animatronics respond if you touch them with it
>there will be a safari zone where you are driven around on tour through a park
>theatre if you want to relax and watching the original episodes on the big screen
It’s still in its early stages, it’s a massively expensive project and it looks like they’re really in this for the long haul so I imagine it’s going to be quite popular, if you have any questions feel free to ask I’ll try answer
