For Caitlin to be 14 in gen 2/4 and an adult in BW at least 4 years must have passed, if you consider BW2 takes place 2 years later and gen 1/3 takes place 3 years before gen 2/4, that puts a gap of at least 9 years between gen 1/3 and BW2. Despite this all trainers look exactly the same as before to the point Tate and Liza look the same as in RSE despite the 10 years gap.
It gets even more ridiculous with the Battle Tree, there Wally shows up looking exactly like in ORAS, but according to Grimsley's concept art, that's two years after BW2, so it's at least 11 years after the events of gen 1/3 but conveniently the only characters from the Battle Tree that have changed since their last game appearance are the ones you encounter first around the region and later in the tree (like Grimsley or Red).
Facility-only cameos being canon is nothing but a retarded idea.
