this thread is obviously bait, so i was reluctant to say as such, but i was put off gates for years not because it wasn't explorers, but because of the shortcuts it took in trying to be its own thing.
thematically, gates is actually my favorite now, coming as someone who refused to support it at launch, and staunchly sat on the hate train for years. but it's riddled with issues
