>>55117927Half the reason hail was so bad was how heavily it limited team building. Sun heavily supports Fire and Grass-types and only hinders water, and there are also other typed Pokémon with abilities that promote Sun usage. So you’re actively encouraged to use 2 types, can use 15 others, and are discouraged from using any Waters that aren’t Walking Wake.
Rain is similar, but trades off having two primary types it supports for supporting Water even better and then helping out a few moves from other types. Only Fire types really actively suffer from being on a Rain team.
Sand damages 15/18 types, but because of that you can have 2-3 teammates that take advantage of the chip and can do your offences if you don’t want your non-Sand Pokémon to get chipped at the moment, or bulkier Sand Pokémon for offensive non-Sand. It also boosts Rock-types even further than this.
Hail… damaged everything but Ice types and made Blizzard a nuke. Ice types get no extra buff like the other weathers give their focus type. It limited team building and wasn’t worth shit until Aurora Veil came along. Your retarded “fix” makes Hail/Snow even worse for this because it’s an even harsher penalty that limits your team building even harder. Defense boosts in snow is synergistic with Aurora Veil, allowing fast Ice-types to survive coverage or priority STABs and giving the plethora of bulky Ice-types an actual use for their Defence stat.
