>>55126772Anon I mean this as politely as possible but you are treating Kieran with a form of animism as if he were a real person and upholding others to this same standard
You have to realize that a lot of people consume fictional materials with a cognitive dissonance, even if they don't realize it
When you play a game where the main character stabs people to death, you're pressing A to drive digital knife into a digital guy's head
In real life that would be different
Your heart would be beating a million miles a minute, you'd be sweating, your hand might slip on the knife handle and get cut, you'd feel the pressure and resistance of the blade cutting into someone's skin and you'd see their blood and hear their screams
You'd have to watch a person bleed out into a corpse and you'd smell the blood
The body would not disappear like in a video game
You'd be faced with the knowledge that this person you killed is going to decompose
Where are you going to hide the body?
What sort of forensic evidence have you already left at the crime scene?
This person probably has family and friends. How are they going to react?
This dichotomy between fictional and real life is similarly applied to enjoying husbandos and fetishes...
Do I think it would be hot for Kieran to tie me up and rape me and smack me around? Maybe even have his Incineroar rape me?
Yes.
In real life would that be fun? Of course not!
I feel like some people are able to enjoy more of this mental disconnect that allows them to indulge in more sick and twisted depraved fantasies, because to them that dissonance is second nature
It certainly is for me as I've been engaging in elaborate daydreams and fantasies since I was a kid
As for how GF treated him, I don't think anyone is happy with how his story "resolved" but this is Gamefreak in the year 2023
Kieran aside I'd like to think we all knew to keep our expectations low
