Detective Pikachu Returns, one of the worst Pokémon games, has a dialog log, an option to double the playback speed of movie cutscenes, an option to auto-advance text, and an option to fast-forward dialog by holding down a button. There's little to no excuse for mainline Pokémon to not have these options after all this time. All games Gen 5 and later should've had them, especially the Alola games in particular.
