Is Gen 10 going to come out in 2025 or 2026?

2025 matches the standard 3 year cycle we've been getting since Gen 5 but 2026 matches the 30th anniversary and gives them an extra year to polish the game and turn around the reception after SV's bugginess.

Scarlet and Violet is probably done, so I think we're getting the BW remakes which would come out next year, along with either a Legends game or some other spinoff in early 2025 and the Gen 10 game coming out at the end of 2025.

Gamefreak already said they would consider spending more time on their games after SV released, which reads like PR to me to delay an important release for the anniversary specifically.

the only way I can see 2026 being gen10 is if GameFreak chooses to delay it due to their PR speak about the issues with Scat and Vomit, the 30th anniversary, and their being a new console around the corner. a Legends title and/or ilca remake can be used as filler titles and they could potentially milk a minor free update for a battle facility and also an update to the game for said new console like that one potentially still legit leak regarding dlc for SV that mentioned an upgrade for the new console.
In all honesty, I don't expect it to happen that way just due to my own cynicism around the series.

I'm okay with ILCA as long as they learn from their main mistake and make the graphics LGPE-based (with a similar level of detail). LGPE graphics, BDSP approach to remake (perhaps with some LGPE influences, like liberties with Trainer teams) and GSC as the base. The best scenario to me.
But if they choose the lazy way and just make a HGSS-based BDSP, then they should go to hell and all hope for a soulful return to Johto is lost forever.
