>>55144128>>55144132Disagree. They have the perfect system already where Pokemon that are already strong (Garchomp, Tyranitar, Sableye etc.) are moreso side-grades than direct power-ups while Pokemon like Kangaskhan and Pinsir benefits leaps and bounds more.
The fact it's not a proper gimmick like the rest also lends itself well to balancing, as seen in the case of Kangaskhan which was centralizing in Gen 6 but was far more balanced in Gen 7 because of the tweaks they made to it and only it and not the mega mechanic as a whole.
The only problem was not doing more megas and not keeping them around. People have rose tinted glasses to shit on the mechanic.
