With Pokemon Silver and Gold on the horizon, everyone is abuzz with all the new Pokemon (150 more to be exact). Well I for one am not too cool with the idea of monsters with names like Hohou and Marriru invading the arena dominated by my original 151. I wouldn't mind 10 or 12 new PKMN, or even 50 new PKMN, but 150 more!
I mean, if it takes any normal person 75 hours to catch all of the originals-50 hours if you are a PKMN maniac like myself- imagine how long it would take to beat the game with 300 PKMN! Some people might say the more playing time, the better, but wouldn’t it get awfully boring after all that while?
And another thing. Most of my friends agree that Blastoise, Charizard, and Venusaur are some of the best pokemon in the game. But in Gold and Silver, Blastoise will evolve into Rainer, Charizard will evolve into Charcolt, and Venusaur will evolve into Saurasaur! Blastoise is the epitome of coolness, but now... RAINER???? I mean, come on! Charcolt? Saurasaur? Oh, and now there is Nidogod, and an fruity looking evolved form of Slowbro with the Shellder on it’s head and a clown collar! And Marriru, formerly called Pikablu, is THE lamest water Pokemon I have ever seen. In Pikachu’s Vacation, Squirtle and Marriru do battle, and even though the movies not out yet, I have a feeling that Squirtle will kick the s*** out of Marriru, AND THAT’S ALL I GOT TO SAY ABOUT THAT!
So, in conclusion, I hope that Pokemon Gold and Silver will not be released in the U.S., although the chances are pretty slim of that. Just please, don’t evolve Mewtwo.
