>>55157663>Is it because men don't care about all the "sappy" emotional stuff? Just curious. It varies.
I don't think men don't care about the sappy emotional stuff. I mean, look at how twitter is swamped with those "average male fantasy" comics and it's about a girl simply just telling them "everything is gonna be okay" while headpatting them and so on and that always do big numbers.
I think it's a difference in population too. Notice how most of the women making that type of art are hobbyists rather than big artists looking for the next big number on their account and to get that next big number it's easier and simpler to just pander to coomers. And coomers have zero standards too so that helps.
Most dudes who like or want that emotional type of thing don't have a sizable drawfag population unlike girls do too.
And obligatory mention of societal expectations and what-not so men feel less inclined to express those desires if they have it.
Personally, I think I've just gotten softer with age. For example, I used to be a hardcore tourneyfag when I was younger but nowadays I actually go and autism teams for thematic reasons and give them nicknames and think little stories of them based on their nature, traits and what-not. Think-up scenarios based on my playthrough and notable things that happens on it. Even have played with the idea of writing a fanfic or two and even have a folder full of notepads of all these things. And I've never written anything in my life before. Ever.
All of that would have been inconceivable for me back then.
Well, there's also the absolute fucking state of the franchise, so I've come to understand that the best way to "enjoy" this franchise is to just see what comes out, like what I like, ignore what I don't, and just enjoy fanworks and stuff of people with similar mentalities because otherwise I'm gonna be mad and bitter forever.
