So where do I start?

I need a new hobby and I am fully committed to getting into Pokemon. Please help. I am a total noob. I hear there's an anime, also games, and also a card game(s)? Which are compulsory to watch/play/learn so I can become a proper Pokemon fan.

then pick a game at random and play it. scarlet/violet are the newest games that people talk the most about, theyre on switch. or emulate it if you want.

You can't just be like us anon and wanting to like something to fit in with a crowd you perceive as cool is cringe
We are people who have a lifelong relationship with this series because for whatever reason we loved it as a kid and despite the faults we still want to see Pokemon shine in modern day
But even if it doesn't we have a wealth of content we can revisit
You can't just come here and ask to "be like us"
Surely there is some series you feel this way about

Watch Season 1 and 2 of the anime and play Pokemon Red. Then play Pokemon Crystal.

If you enjoy those, just keep going down the line sequentially and in order. This is how you should get into all hobbies. Start with the oldest thing and keep moving forward if it isn't or is to your taste.
