Theyre definitely not the best games, but they're pretty solid. I was surprised that I was actually challenged but the cutscenes every 5 steps was pretty bad.

I hate that every Alola thread inevitably starts as or gets raided by bait. They're not the best games, but SM and USUM are fun and have a lot of strengths for replayability if you can get past the 30 minute tutorial.

It really isn't. I exaggerated a bit, but getting past the first trial takes maybe 40 minutes, and once you get Tauros not long after that there is a ton of side content and exploration consistently whenever you get a new ride option unlocked or trial completed.

ORAS killed Z, not SM. The main pair devs went straight from XY to SM, while the other team skipped Z and made ORAS because everyone wanted a remake.

anyone describing the cutscenes as this sounds like they intentionally skipped as much of the game as possible (avoiding NPC trainers, avoiding wild pokemon, etc.)
