More traditional, 4 guys in a roll is just standard JRPG fare, but since that would be more than half of the party just 3 is fine, plus positioning is cool.

Its BETTER version of singles.
Rotating Pokémon is a free action, meaning both players may rotate and attack in the same turn. Battles are more dynamic and allow for a lot more strategy

That's exactly why it's shit. There's no cost to switching out, and you keep all of your stat changes when moving your lead. It makes setup all that more powerful and braindead.

I am the only person on this board who has made actual triple battle threads asking people to queue up in ORAS in the past 2 1/2 years at least. They do not have enough popularity to warrant bringing back.

Making status changes temporary could also help, I know they already wear out when switching out but making them only last a certain amount of turns be more fair.

No you fucking retarded asshole. They dropped because they can make their fucking game work right. The Gen 6 games were functional but still poorly coded, depending of the model in the field the games would slow down massively trying to render it, put 6 Moltres in a triple battle and see what happens.
