The game is already simple as is since Kanto's dex is small on its own and there are no wild battles.

LGPE at least had an interesting spin on it. The pokeball controller was legitimately fun. I have good memories playing it. I barely remember playing BDSP. All I remember is the digging minigame.

If I'm gonna be honest I think that in theory, revisiting the first region for Game Freaks leap to the home consoles was a really great idea, it's just the execution wasn't good because it was a weird hybrid for Go fans and also is some weird game where you don't play as Red and fight Blue, but go through the events Red and Blue go through
