Snow is a pretty big boon to ice types since it helps them, well actually tank things which GF seems insistent on making Ice Types defensive despite the typing not being good defensively

Abomasnow, Aurorus, Frosmoth, and Vanilluxe all have a passive defensive boost simply for existing on top of having a move that makes them take half damage from everything in the game so they can safely set up or spam offensive moves.
Sandslash, Beartic, Cetitan, Arctozolt and Arctovish can double their speed.
Articuno can easily avoid getting hit altogether while safely spamming Sheer Cold.
Baxcalibur has two different ways of easily raising its speed.
Calyrex, Glastrier and Mamoswine are all offensive tanks that are never played defensively at all, with the former two being good choices on TR teams.

They do now. In gen 9. They did not have that before.
Frosmoth did, but Frosmoth was shit back then and is still shit now.

Also conditional, and a 1 in 5 chance is not what I'd describe as "easily".
