>>55203577So what makes them not animals?
I'll list the reasons you gave me
>"Animal" is a scientific term for a category of things that exist in real life. Pokemon don't exist in real lifeI responded that the definition of animals doesnt necessitate existing in real life which you agreed when you said
>I didn't say it can't apply to fictional creatures.Reason #2
>the games literally never call them animalsSo you're basically saying that calling something another name makes it something different
>They have their own biological rules.True. But they have traits consistent with animals
"a living organism that feeds on organic matter, typically having specialized sense organs and nervous system and able to respond rapidly to stimuli." Sounds like SOME pokemon to me, like Incineroar for example, is an animal, its made out of organic matter, eats organic matter, a living creature, and has a nervous system to responds to stimuli
So again, you haven't really given me a valid reason as to why Pokemon can't be animals
